From Your Pastor's Heart

I am so thankful to be part of a body of believers like you.  God is blessing our Church and we are excited at how He is moving.  This is a good time to consider what qualities are found in a true Church.   A true church is a fellowship of those who find union in Christ within themselves.  They believe in Christ and  one another, and they bring the reality of God to all they do in the daily traffic pattern of life.  The true church is made up of those who share the common conviction that now is the time when the Word of God must be spoken and the will of God must become part of each of our lives.  It is a fellowship of those dedicated to helping everyone from the youngest to the oldest fulfill his divine destiny.

The true church has a meeting place where people grow in their ability to seek and know God; where they grow in union with God through worship, meditation, and study.  There they grow in the skills of witnessing to others so that they, too, may find God and His purpose for their lives.  Wherever these members go, wherever they are, loving and living and doing the will of God, there the true church is.

The true church is the power and the beauty by which all aspects of living become Holy for the believer.  We are to have a true compassion which feeds the hungry and strengthens the weak.  We are to have the mercy that heals and the love that banishes all hate, bringing the spirit of God's love to all men, until every human being is healed and every difference canceled.  The true church is the light that shows all men the way of freedom.  The Love of Christ and His teachings are to be the driving momentum behind the Church through the Holy Spirit.

The true church is to be constantly sensitive both to the Holy Spirit and to the needs of men locally and over the world that they may be saved and God will be glorified.  Then the Gospel will be furthered for the kingdom of Christ.  May our church continue to take on the role model of what the true church is to be.

      In His Service,
